In August 2001, thirteen people gathered in the
living room of Don & Cyndi Shurts Beavercreek
home. That small group had a desire to begin a church
that would be culturally relevant and doctrinally
pure...a church that would be relevant to the people
in the Southeastern part of the Miami Valley. GracePoint
Community Church was born. Since those first services,
the congregation has desired to communicate clearly
the message of Gods love through positive,
practical messages, exciting music with a contemporary
flavor, and use of multi-media, drama and other
visual arts. |
Shortly after those first services, the congregation
moved their worship services to the Charles I. Lathrem
Senior Center located at the Kettering Recreation Complex.
During the next year, the church experienced growth
and added several other ministries to its schedule.
Kids ministries and nursery services were added
for families. Home Bible Studies were also started throughout
the community.
In September 2003, the church began an exciting midweek
program called Pioneer Clubs. Pioneer Clubs is for children
ages 2-13 years of age. Currently, more than 50 kids
participate in this ministry. Concurrently, a midweek
Bible Study for Adults began meeting on Tuesday nights
at the Rec Center.
GracePoint Church has been thrilled to see lives changed
and transformed. The church continues to grow and anticipates
the great things God has in store for all who attend!
