Have you ever hoped or believed that you could achieve something remarkable with your life?

Have you ever been a part of a group of people who believed God could achieve something remarkable in and through their lives?

Thomas Edison never thought of himself as revolutionary. He was just a hard working, thoroughly practical man who had no idea that tinkering with wires in his workshop would one day make possible the exploitation of electricity.

Few men were as rare in caliber and character as George Washington Carver, who declined an employment invitation to what today would be a million-dollar contract to continue his work as an agricultural chemist in the south. Being the son of parents who were enslaved, George had no idea that his love for nature, his attentiveness to the soil and use of peanuts, soybeans, pecans and sweet potatoes would one day lead to over 300 different products that we still use today.

Martin Luther King Jr. had no idea as a 26-year-old man traveling to Birmingham, Alabama, to assume the pastorate of the Dexter Ave Baptist Church and beginning a family, that his name would one day be heralded around the globe as a human rights icon or that he would be remembered for generations as the man who said, "I have a dream..."

Henry Ford had no idea walking around his farm in Dearborn, Michigan, that one day his love for machinery would give birth to a worldwide industry of automotive production.

We celebrate the Wright Brothers this year. Working in their bicycle shop here in little Dayton, Ohio, they had no idea that the awkward wing-warped mechanism that flew just a few feet at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, would one day be the prototype that would permit people not only to circle the globe, but to escape it's atmosphere and explore other planets.
